Pastoralism: an opportunity to battle poverty and climate change
A conference proposed by VSF Belgium at the Inforpoint External Cooperation of the European Commission, on the 10th of June from 12h30-13h30.
Bruxelles, Rue Haute 43, ground floor.
Pastoralism is a highly rational and efficient land-use system, that through seasonal mobility of livestock (among other strategies) is ideally suited to cope with environmental variability, such as drought disasters and climate change, and as such to alleviate poverty. This lunch-conference will stress the importance of pastoralism as a viable way for people in fragile regions to adapt to these contemporary and age-old challenges.
This lunch conference is realized in the frame of the present Development Education Project of VSF-Europa. It is organized by VSF-Belgium, as member of CELEP as well (Coalition of European Lobbies on Eastern African Pastoralism), and together with Food First program.
